Our modern laboratory has state-of-the-art instruments which are kept controlled and calibrated by a rigorous preventive maintenance program, as well as external quality control with the CAP (College of American Pathologists) and following JCI (Joint Commission International) standards. .

We have a variety of tests and services in the area of General and Special Hematology, General and Special Chemistry, Immunoserology, Microbiology (including fungi and mycobacteria), Quantitative Urinary Analysis, General Parasitology, and Molecular Tests.

For your convenience, we have two clinical laboratories located at:

Outpatient Center, located next to the main entrance of Clínica Hospital San Fernando. Office hours: Monday to Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Outpatient Center #2, located in the San Fernando Specialized Center. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

Our laboratory has the most complete external quality controls, performing proficiency tests from internationally recognized entities, to ensure the quality and safety of the tests that are efficiently executed by highly trained personnel committed to providing the best care:

CAP (College of American Pathologists), USA, since 2000.

EQAS (External Quality Assurance Services), BIORAD, USA.

CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Program, USA.

PEEC (External Quality Assessment Program), Neonatal Screening, Argentina.

We offer the use of reference laboratories in the Republic of Panama and the United States. The San Fernando Clinical laboratory is responsible for the pre-analytical process, data verification, extraction, identification and adequate conservation of the samples. The logistics of transporting the samples to facilities in the United States is the responsibility of an external agency that receives the analysis reports, delivers the originals to the San Fernando Clinical Laboratory, and immediately notifies any critical value that the reference laboratory highlights.

The continuous improvement plan for services and performance is an important part of our management. We implement in our service the programs of Customer Service, Management of the Use of Resources, Organizational Assessment and Risk Management. In addition, the San Fernando Clinical Laboratory has active participation in the Quality, Epidemiology, Biosafety and Evacuation / Disaster Committees at the hospital level.
