  • Radiology: The exams are performed by Radiology and imaging technicians under the supervision of the group of expert radiologists from Clínica Hospital San Fernando in Panama City. Among the exams we offer are: Ultrasound, Mammography, X-rays, Bone Densitometry. In addition, we have an online results portal, where you can access your results through our website.
  • Clinical Laboratory: We perform all the laboratory tests you need with the support of our central laboratory at Clínica Hospital San Fernando.
  • Medical Consultations: For your convenience, you can monitor your health status with a general consultation and, if required, you can schedule your appointment with our specialist doctors.
  • Pharmacy: With products of the highest quality, you will have at your fingertips all the medications you need closer to you.

  1. Why don't we accept MS Family Medical Care copay with specialists and is it cash on delivery?

Due to the travel costs involved, the cost of consulting specialists in Coronado does not meet the usual standards of insurers. For this reason, we have agreed with MS Family Medical Care that such claims must be cash on delivery.

  1. What insurance do we accept?

We accept a wide range of national and international insurance. To check if your insurance is accepted, do not hesitate to contact us via WhatsApp at 6379-2321 to make a consultation and validate your coverage.

  1. Do we accept insurance such as FMP, Tricare, Champs VA, Geo Blue? What is the process?

We accept insurance FMP at our branch, provided the following conditions are met:
FMP:
• You must send us the updated benefits letter by email to tricarefmp@hospitalsanfernando.com , WhatsApp or presenting it in person.

• Tenga en cuenta que la cobertura con médicos especialistas dependerá que el mismo acepte el seguro y este habilitado para brindar el servicio bajo su cobertura de FMP, en caso de no poder recibir la atención en Coronado, puede contactarse al número 6674-4977 para coordinar su cita en Panamá (sujeto a que se cuente con la especialidad dentro de la red médica interna).

 GEO BLUE:
• The client must present their insurance card, and our team will be in charge of managing the validation of their coverage to make the use of their insurance effective, subject to confirmation by the insurer.
• As provided by the insurer, regarding medications, GEO BLUE will only cover those that are administered during emergency care.

 TRICARE

  1. Do we offer medical services to obtain the necessary license certificates annually?

Sí, ofrecemos servicios médicos para obtener certificados  de licencia para conducir.

En el caso específico  para personas mayores de 70 años es importante realizar previamente los exámenes necesarios. Los cuales podrán realizarse en nuestra clínica, un día antes de la consulta con el especialista en medicina interna o de geriatría. Estos especialistas visitan nuestra clínica una o dos veces al mes  para elaborar los certificados de buena salud  requeridos.

 Los exámenes necesarios  para pacientes mayores de 70 años requeridos por el especialista son:

•   Hemograma

•   Tipo de sangre

•   Glicemia en ayunas

•   Hemoglobina glicosilada

•   Creatinina

•   Nitrógeno ureico

•   Electrolitos

•   Examen de Orina

•   Electrocardiograma

  1. Do we have an ambulance and what are the important considerations?

At the Coronado Clinic, ambulances are an external service that we have, and we have a network of contacts in case their use is necessary. Our team provides support in the proper coordination of this service. However, it is important to keep in mind that the cost of the ambulance must be paid directly to the service, and in many cases payment in cash is required.
It is essential that, if an ambulance transfer is required, the patient has a companion and provides their personal information.
In situations where the patient is unconscious and has no companion, our medical staff will always provide first aid with the aim of stabilizing the patient. Health is our priority. In these cases, the patient's identification will be sought. Therefore, we recommend having written information available with emergency contact information, which will make it easier to determine the most appropriate destination for the transfer and avoid sending the patient to a public institution.

  1. Why is a companion important when riding in an ambulance?

If the patient cannot communicate clearly with the ambulance personnel due to their health condition, the companion or responsible family member can serve as communication support. This companion can provide crucial information about the patient's medical history, symptoms, and any other relevant details about the patient's health or condition to healthcare personnel or the facilities to which they will be transferred.

  1. Do we have a general doctor?

Yes, we have a general practitioner available Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

  1. Can appointments be scheduled for different services?

To access the clinic's services, such as General Medicine, Laboratory and Radiology consultation, simply visit us during our business hours.
Regarding appointments with specialist doctors, we offer two modalities:
• Limited space reservations: For some specialists, we reserve a specific number of appointments that are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Appointments: For other specialists, we coordinate appointments according to your availability and that of the professional.

  1. What to do if the results portal password is lost or forgotten?

If you have problems with your password on our results portal, please do not hesitate to contact us at 6379-2321 or 240-1646, and we will be happy to help you. If you forget your password, there is a forget my password option on the portal.
